Creating ecovative technology has many different meanings—from designing and building the best displays we can, to understanding the marketplace demands for ecologically-friendly solutions. There are a few key elements that influence everything we do. One of these is making our products long lasting.

Long lasting means more to us than simply having a longer effective lifespan (although that’s important!). We looked at how our displays were built and realized that making them long lasting involved more than just an effective lifespan. If a product has short-lived consumables (lamps, screens, etc.) possibly containing toxic materials, does this make it environmentally friendly? We don’t think it does. Our displays not only have a longer life span than traditional LCD or LED displays, they have no consumables, and no toxic compounds. In fact our displays are rated for up to 60,000 hours (that’s more than 7 years of continual 24/7 usage) before replacement.

Inherent in our ecovative design are two important installation features: our displays have extremely low heat output and have no specific HVAC requirements. In addition to cool running solid-state components, the TD1 uses standard voltages and does not need special cabling or power sources. TD1 tiles are maintained by advanced software that monitors and reports the health of each individual tile and the entire display system. Tiles are self-calibrating and can quickly match other displays for display uniformity. This combination of software and hardware gives years of trouble-free use.
